Position Overview
We are seeking a senior Cloud Solutions Architect to lead cloud infrastructure architecture, IT modernization, and digital transformation initiatives across enterprise technology environments. The architect will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions and will provide technical leadership across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, automation, Kubernetes, application modernization, and data platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, containerization, cloud networking, security, monitoring, and hybrid cloud environments.

This position works closely with enterprise architects, infrastructure and service delivery teams, application development teams, business stakeholders, technology leadership, and cross-functional project teams. The successful candidate will operate with considerable independence and exercise sound technical judgment in a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cloud architecture and infrastructure initiatives supporting both project delivery and steady-state operations.
  • Develop cloud architecture blueprints, network topologies, solution designs, and technical specifications aligned with business requirements.
  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud modernization and transformation initiatives, including migration from on-premises environments to public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements, evaluate existing systems, identify gaps, and recommend innovative technology solutions.
  • Evaluate and present architectural options to support technology selection and implementation decisions.
  • Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure and application architectures.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments, improve consistency, and enable scalability.
  • Design, deploy, configure, scale, and maintain containerized applications and microservices using Kubernetes.
  • Support Kubernetes clusters, serverless infrastructure, APIs, cloud infrastructure services, and integrations.
  • Develop and maintain cloud automation using Ansible, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
  • Establish and enforce cloud security controls, identity and access management, data protection, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure cloud solutions adhere to applicable security standards, regulatory requirements, and enterprise best practices, including HIPAA where applicable.
  • Design and administer highly scalable cloud-based systems with strong integration and reporting capabilities.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application development, data, security, and operations teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Participate in solution implementation, testing, deployment, installation, and production transition activities.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards, procedures, documentation, architecture diagrams, and best practices.
  • Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, security, and operational health.
  • Utilize cloud monitoring, logging, auditing, and operations platforms to identify and resolve infrastructure and application issues.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to team members and project teams.
  • Coordinate multiple projects and assignments while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Support the development and delivery of technical training for IT and business staff on new technologies, tools, and platforms.
  • Apply Agile/Scrum methodologies and actively participate in Scrum ceremonies and collaborative development practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience with enterprise computer systems, IT infrastructure, hardware, software, operating systems, and applicable programming/scripting technologies.
  • 7+ years of experience with modern cloud technologies and analytical services offered by major cloud service providers.
  • 7+ years of experience with cloud service delivery models, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • 7+ years of experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP cloud services.
  • 7+ years of experience with cloud networking and network architecture principles.
  • 7+ years of experience with cloud data governance, security, compliance, and risk management.
  • 7+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Scrum ceremonies.
  • 7+ years of experience working as a technology architect on software development, data analytics, performance management, data warehousing, or enterprise technology projects.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, architecture diagramming, and modeling skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience analyzing technology capabilities, limitations, defects, and business requirements to develop evidence-based solutions.
  • 7+ years of experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD practices.
  • 7+ years of experience with containerization, microservices, and Kubernetes architecture, including deployment, scaling, and maintenance.
  • Experience supporting Kubernetes clusters, serverless infrastructure, APIs, and cloud integrations.
  • 7+ years of experience with cloud automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager.
  • Experience with cloud and application monitoring, auditing, logging, and operational tools such as Sysdig Secure/CNAPP, Dynatrace, AWS CloudWatch, GCP Cloud Operations, Azure Monitor, OCI Monitoring, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, KornShell, PowerShell, cloud CLIs, Kubernetes Helm, and related tools.
  • Strong understanding of YAML, JSON, Ruby, HCL, and other declarative/imperative languages used for automation and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with Ansible, Docker, Terraform, and related DevOps/IaC technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple overlapping deadlines and projects.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple assignments, establish priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and provide direction to team members.
  • Experience establishing technical best practices, standards, and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with enterprise IT systems, infrastructure, software, operating systems, and programming technologies.
  • 8+ years of experience with major cloud platforms and cloud-native services.
  • 8+ years of experience with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS architectures.
  • 8+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • 8+ years of experience with cloud network architecture and design.
  • 8+ years of experience with DevOps, CI/CD, containerization, microservices, and Kubernetes.
  • 8+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, ARM templates, and related technologies.
  • 8+ years of experience architecting, engineering, or developing enterprise IT solutions in cloud and hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience with cloud database services, including relational/SQL, NoSQL, and Oracle platforms.
  • Experience with data lakes and cloud-based ETL/ELT architectures and frameworks supporting structured and unstructured data.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML services and configuration options available from major cloud providers.
  • Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and big-data frameworks.
  • Experience working in large, complex, enterprise or government environments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data, security, privacy, and compliance requirements is a plus.
