Kilpatrick Townsend is seeking a Paralegal for our award-winning E-Discovery Team to support litigation teams through all phases of the e-discovery lifecycle while helping advance the firm's use of AI and emerging legal technologies. The Paralegal position will be part of our team of attorneys, paralegals, project managers, and support staff, working collaboratively to provide a high level of service to both internal and external clients. The ideal candidate is a technology-curious individual with strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a passion for innovation. Experience in e-discovery and legal technology is helpful but not required. The E-Discovery Paralegal will receive structured training and mentorship in the e-discovery lifecycle, Relativity and other e-discovery technologies, and the responsible use of AI. The successful candidate will demonstrate steady progress toward independent proficiency and relevant technical certifications. Essential Job Functions:
- Support e-discovery matters across the lifecycle-from preservation and collection through review and production-under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Assist with matter tracking, reporting, and budgeting activities.
- Conduct legal or other research, as requested.
- Leverage advanced technologies and AI in developing innovative workflows, processes, and reporting.
- Use AI-enabled and other legal-technology tools in accordance with firm policies, client requirements, confidentiality obligations, and attorney supervision; validate work product for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with deposition and trial preparation.
- Proofread documents with a high level of accuracy.
- Coordinate projects with e-discovery personnel.
- Assist with and progressively assume responsibility for defined legal and technical projects, with guidance from team management, attorneys, and project managers.
- Support business development initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Four-year degree or equivalent work experience.
- High technical aptitude and desire to learn new technologies.
- Desire to work in fast-paced, innovative environment.
- High level of proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Demonstrated interest in learning and responsibly using AI tools and emerging legal technologies; prior experience is welcome but not required.
- Commitment to learning responsible AI practices, including data security, confidentiality, quality control, and appropriate human review.
- Ability to perform well under pressure.

Minimum Requirements Knowledge, Education, Certification, Licenses Required:
- Bachelor's degree, associate degree with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
Preferred:
- Basic hardware and network systems knowledge.
Optional:
- Prior experience in e-discovery or litigation support in the law firm environment.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Willingness to learn the litigation process from initial filing through trial.
- Willingness to learn Relativity and other widely used e-discovery applications.
- Outstanding client relationship-building skills.
- Ability to identify potential issues, escalate them appropriately, and contribute to practical solutions.

Experience Preferred:
- Experience in a professional services, legal, academic, or similarly deadline-driven environment.
This is a full-time, regular position with a multi-faceted health benefit package including medical, dental, and vision. The firm also offers life insurance, short term disability plans and retirement plans in addition to holidays and paid time off. The pay range for this position in Winston-Salem only is $36.92 to $47.18 per hour. The pay range for this position in Houston is $38.46-48.72 per hour. Selected applicants will be contacted.
