Job Description

Kearney & Company is seeking an Accounting Financial Systems Consultant to join our team and help bridge the gap between analytics and application development teams and accounting and financial management stakeholders. In this role, you will collaborate with functional and technical teams to gather requirements, translate business processes into technical specifications, research system interfaces, support solution development, and help ensure delivered solutions meet customer needs. This role is perfect for an accountant or auditor who has been developing their skills. Additional responsibilities shown below:

  • Design analytics solutions based on General Ledger and Feeder System data
  • Solve problems using financial data
  • Work alongside developers to deliver applications
  • Translate business processes into technical requirements
  • Build prototypes and analytics
  • Partner with junior developers throughout implementation to clarify requirements, answer functional and technical questions, and support successful development and delivery
  • Validate that technical solutions meet accounting needs
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation

Washington DC Metro Area, Work location may be in the office, but because we are a client facing organization, you can expect to also be at client sites. You may have the opportunity to work virtually/remotely in the U.S. depending on business needs and is always subject to change. This is not determined until closer to start date. Travel opportunities may be presented (depending on client to client). As a reminder, this position is not guaranteed to be in person 5 days a week. Work schedules and client needs vary from engagement to engagement and this is always subject to change. Kearney does an incredible job with the communication of changes should they arise with advance notice.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field

* Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in auditing, accounting, data analytics, financial management, or related areas
* Experience working with both accounting stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into actionable technical requirements
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments with competing priorities while effectively communicating progress and results to stakeholders
* Expertise in performing analysis on general ledger and financial reporting data
* Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
* Experience using Python, PySpark, SQL or other programming languages
* Understanding technical aspects of projects data structures, systems integration, and workflows

* Must have an active Interim Secret Clearance (or higher, such as Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI) to be considered for this role (requires U.S. citizenship)

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with the DoW's War Data Platform (previously Advana), DoW ERP systems (e.g. Army GFEBS, Navy ERP, Defense Agencies Initiative) or similar data platform

* Experience with the Department of the Army, Department of the Navy, United States Marine Corps, General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI)
* Experience in public accounting, auditing, financial analytics or DoW Financial Management
* Strong understanding of USSGL accounts and experience performing business analysis using General Ledger data
* Familiarity with Palantir Foundry, Databricks, Qlik, or similar technologies
* Experience designing queries for analysis using multiple subledger tables from ERP systems (e.g. using Purchase Order [PO] Header, PO Line, PO Distribution, and Payables Tables to analyze procure to pay transactions)
* Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integrating data from various on-premises and cloud-based sources

The expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $140,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
