Overview Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. The Lapointe Lab (Basic Sciences Division, Fred Hutch) is hiring a Post Doctoral Research Fellow. The fellow will apply state-of-the-art biochemical and in vitro single-molecule microscopy assays to examine human translation initiation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working collaboratively and in a multidisciplinary environment. The Lapointe Lab provides a supportive environment that strongly emphasizes individualized mentoring strategies. Responsibilities The fellow will learn and apply cutting-edge biochemical and single-molecule assays to track interactions of single human proteins and ribosomes with single mRNAs in vitro. To do so, they will use biochemical, molecular biology, and biophysical approaches and necessary computational methods to analyze data. The fellow will present their work at group meetings and conferences and write up their work for publication. Secondary responsibilities include mentoring graduate students and research technicians and contributing positively to the lab community and intellectual environment. Other Expectations:
Work collaboratively within the Lapointe Lab and with Hutch and external collaborators.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,172 to $95,014, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
