R&D Engineering Intern, Co-Op 2027 (8 months)

Your Opportunity as an Engineering Intern

As an intern within our Corporate Engineering Organization, you will work on a Process Engineering Team supporting Research and Development. You will work on research projects that involve designing and executing experiments in the laboratory and pilot plant, develop and conduct tests to evaluate potential processing changes, or prove out new process technology for new products and equipment. You will have the opportunity to lead your own projects, while also gaining exposure to broader company initiatives.

Location: Orrville, OH Corporate Offices

Work Arrangements: 100% in office expectations

Work Schedule: We are looking for students who are available for 6-8 months (from January - August or May - December). Please indicate your availability on the application.

In this role you will:

• Partner closely with scientists, engineers, and technicians to complete multiple projects, analyze data, and present results to company leadership.

• Apply fundamental engineering principles to design and conduct experiments on pilot scale manufacturing equipment and analytical instruments.

• Interface as needed with equipment suppliers, manufacturing facilities and cross-functional business partners to achieve project goals.

• Develop foundational knowledge as an engineer in the food industry, with a focus on optimizing processes, equipment, and finished product attributes.

What we are looking for:

• A Sophomore or Junior standing in schoolwith requisite educational experience inChemical, or Mechanical Engineering

• Awell-roundedskill setincludingstrong time-management, the ability to work flexible/varied hours(some overtime may be needed), comfort in working in a laboratory, pilot plant, and plant environments
