Education Requirements



  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent combination of education, industrial automation experience, and technical training may be considered.


Experience Requirements



  • 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, controls, machine startup, commissioning, maintenance, or automated equipment troubleshooting.
  • Experience bringing automated production equipment online and supporting system startups.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience working with industrial robots, motion control systems, HMIs, PLCs, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficiency using computer-based diagnostic, configuration, and system setup tools.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience programming and troubleshooting robotic systems, automated machinery, and production equipment.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, sensors, conveyors, vision systems, servo drives, and industrial controls.
  • Familiarity with Structured Text or other industrial programming languages.
  • CAD software experience preferred.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues and solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, work independently, and support multiple system integrations simultaneously.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to perform hands-on work in manufacturing and industrial environments.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching during equipment startup and troubleshooting activities.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment, tools, and components as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% for customer installations, startups, and service support.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.


Job Duties



  • Commission, configure, and troubleshoot custom automated machinery, robotics, and industrial automation systems.
  • Start up equipment, load and modify control programs, and optimize machine performance.
  • Prepare equipment for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and support successful customer demonstrations.
  • Lead commissioning activities on smaller projects and assist engineering teams on complex automation systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, controls, and software-related issues.
  • Program, calibrate, and tune robots, motion systems, vision systems, conveyors, and related equipment.
  • Support equipment installation, startup, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) at customer locations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, service, and manufacturing teams to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure systems meet performance, quality, reliability, and project timeline objectives.
