THE POSITION

As a Business Analyst 2 for the Bureau of Medical Marijuana, you will help guide system improvements that support the success of the Medical Marijuana Program. This position lets you work with complex information technology (IT) tools while making processes clearer and more efficient. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the Medical Marijuana Program by reviewing business needs and guiding technology solutions that improve program operations. It ensures that systems, processes, and documentation remain accurate, secure, and effective. As a Business Analyst 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • System Analysis: Evaluate program workflows, data needs, and IT solutions to improve performance
  • System Oversight: Monitor daily system activity, coordinate with vendors, and ensure compliance with service agreements
  • Documentation Review: Maintain requirements, review regulations, and update system documentation for clarity and accuracy
  • Testing Support: Conduct software testing, document results, and assist in resolving defects with IT vendors
  • Quality Monitoring: Analyze security roles, operating procedures, and system processes to recommend improvements
  • Project Coordination: Support IT projects by reviewing plans, tracking progress, and preparing change requests and reports

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Limited-term, full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)
  • The length of employment is unknown at this time.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Business Analyst 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year as an Information Technology Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Five years of business process analysis experience; or
  • One year of business process analysis experience and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
