CDL Switcher/Shuttle Driver
Pay: $25.50/hour
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
Schedule: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE...
As a CDL Switcher/Shuttle Driver, you will play a vital role in keeping our operation moving safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for shuttling trailers and materials between locations, supporting shipping and receiving operations, maintaining yard organization, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. Your attention to safety, accuracy, and teamwork will help drive operational success every day.
WHAT YOU WILL DO...
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, straight trucks, forklifts, floor jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Shuttle merchandise and raw materials between company facilities and properties.
- Complete local backhaul deliveries as needed.
- Move trailers to and from shipping and receiving docks and designated yard locations.
- Perform DOT and company-required pre-trip inspections.
- Maintain accurate logs, trip reports, and trailer yard inventory records.
- Conduct yard checks, lot checks, and learn to utilize a yard management system.
- Inspect trailer loads to ensure products are properly secured before departure.
- Apply trailer seals and immediately address load discrepancies.
- Assist with product transfers from warehouse racks to trucks when necessary.
- Place bills of lading and other required paperwork on dropped trailers.
- Maintain clean and safe dock areas, including debris removal, sweeping, snow and ice removal, and light maintenance activities.
- Inspect dock equipment, trailer restraints, dock shelters, dock bumpers, lighting, and exterior dock areas, reporting maintenance needs as necessary.
- Follow all safety, housekeeping, and personal protection procedures.
- Maintain a clean work environment and report equipment issues, safety concerns, and injuries promptly.
- Support warehouse operations through pallet retrieval, distribution, and general housekeeping responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE... (MUST HAVE)
- CDL Class A Driver's License.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety requirements.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Ability to work a 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM schedule.
- Ability to work in warehouse and outdoor yard environments, including varying weather and temperature conditions.
- Ability to frequently drive, sit, stand, push, pull, and use hands throughout the shift.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE... (NICE TO HAVE)
- At least 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or production environment.
- CDL Tank Vehicle Endorsement (where applicable).
- Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with yard management systems.
- Experience conducting yard checks, trailer inventory management, and dock operations.
- Basic maintenance, facility support, or equipment inspection experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
