Role

Under limited direction, serves as a strategic data and analytics leader responsible for advancing enterprise data governance, data quality, reporting strategy, and business intelligence capabilities. Partners with business and technology leadership to drive data-informed decision-making, maximize the value of Recology's ERP/CRM investments, and ensure systems of record function as trusted enterprise assets.

This position is hybrid, in office three days per week at our Sacramento Data Center, the rest from home.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Leads analysis of ERP/CRM data and business processes to identify strategic trends, operational risks, and opportunities that improve organizational performance and support executive decision-making..
  • Designs, builds, andmaintainsdashboards and reports using tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Consults with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to define analytics roadmaps, prioritize reporting investments, and align data solutions with business objectives.
  • Supports the execution of data quality initiatives, including profiling, validation, and resolution of data issues.
  • Provides leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise data governance policies, standards, and stewardship practices.
  • Monitors and measures key ERP/CRM metrics and KPIs, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Participates in testing and validation of system updates to confirm data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Maintainsdocumentation related to data definitions, reporting logic, and metadata.
  • Champions organizational data literacy and self-service analytics by developing adoption strategies, governance guidance, and best practices for business users.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to business and technology leadership, influencing priority-setting, solution design, and enterprise data strategy.
  • Prepares files and reports by performing ETL (Extract,Transformand Load).
  • Monitors all business requirements and validate all designsand schedule all ETL processes and prepare documents for all data flow diagrams.
  • MaintainsSharePoint website for centralized team information sharing and proper documentation.
  • Performs report data mapping and setup for acquisitions andERP/CRMsystem implementations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data governance, or enterprise reporting roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale analytics, reporting, data governance, or ERP/CRM transformation initiatives.
  • Experience influencing business leaders and driving cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, business analytics, information systems, or related field preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency in data tools such as SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience working with large datasets, relational databases, and CRM or ERP systems.
  • Experience with ERP/CRM systems and data governance frameworks is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding ofdata quality, data governance, and data modeling concepts.
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations, identify root causes, and apply mathematical concepts.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated research, technical, and computer skills to gather, interpret, and report data accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and execute projects.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to interpret and visualize data to drive decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and foster teamwork in a cross-functional environment.
