The Executive Director is the key management leader of Rise-NY (hereinafter, Rise). The Executive Director oversees the organization's administration, programs, and execution of its strategic plan. Other key duties include agency advocacy, grant writing, fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors. This is a 100% on-site, fully in-person position based locally at our facility and within the community we serve. This role does not offer remote, hybrid, or weekday-commuter arrangements. Full-time, permanent local relocation to the service area is a strict prerequisite for any candidate who does not already live locally. This positions duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: General Responsibilities Financial Performance and Viability: Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization through grant writing and other efforts. Specific Responsibilities Engage in fundraising and actively develop revenue sources from grant sourcing and other revenue-generating opportunities. Work collaboratively with community partners and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance Rises Mission. Serve as Rises primary spokesperson to the organizations constituents, the media, and the public. Oversee annual employee reviews, delegate as necessary to others in supervisory roles. Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the organization. Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors. Requirements A bachelors degree in human services or a closely related field received from an accredited institution of higher learning required. A masters degree in a human services field is strongly preferred. Skills/Aptitudes The ability to effectively direct agency operations, lead, supervise and evaluate subordinates, delegate responsibility, and plan, organize and implement programs. Proven ability to write successful grants and monitor reports to funders. The candidate must demonstrate good judgment in determining priorities and applying agency policies to reflect positively on the Organization and its staff. Must be able to work without supervision in stressful situations performing multiple tasks simultaneously. It is essential that the Executive Director be able to establish an effective working relationship with both agency staff and the Board of Directors in order to develop sound policies that support and promote the agencys mission. Must be available to handle emergency situations on a 24-hour basis. Must physically be able to perform required certifications and lift fifty (50) pounds. Possess a valid drivers license with driving record acceptable to the agencys insurance carrier guidelines.
