Safety & Health Engineer

• Execute safety and health programs such as chemical inventory/SDS management, exposure monitoring, and hearing conservation
  
• Perform emergency equipment field inspections & industrial hygiene exposure monitoring as assigned; document and retain results using department procedures
  
• Conduct safety walkthroughs/audits of workspaces, identify corrective actions, and provide recommendations for their implementation
  
• Assist with fall protection permit reviews and scaffold inspections
  
• Review work control documents to ensure health & safety hazards are identified, and controls are adequate to address applicable hazards
  
• Perform all functions in a safe and responsible manner and encourage the same in fellow employees. Take a proactive view of safety and help coworkers do their jobs responsibly
  

• Conduct professional development that leads to CIH certification or supports the maintenance of existing certifications.
  

• Preferred: 2 or more years industrial hygiene, industrial safety
  
• Preferred: working at a DOE or DOD facility
  

• Required: Bachelor's Degree occupational safety & health, environmental health, science, or engineering
  

• Preferred: Health Services\Certified Industrial Hygienist
  
• Preferred: Administrative Services\Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
