Open Rank of Psychiatry in Community Behavioral Health

The Department
of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at University of New Mexico Health
Sciences is eager to put together the right package for individuals with a
passion for clinical psychology and academics, coupled with an interest in
joining a team of talented, caring and dedicated faculty members. Applications
are being accepted for an academic faculty clinical psychologist, suitable for an
appointment at the Open Rank. Positions are currently available in the
Community Behavioral Health Division. Research involvement is required for
applicants. This position includes both clinical and academic opportunities.

As a member of
our supportive and collegial department, the person selected will have
opportunities for multi-cultural clinical care with an emphasis on the
treatment of Native American populations. Scholarly activities are available,
including collaboration with colleagues across the health sciences campus and
in rural communities across the state. There is potential for professional
development in leadership and administration within UNM Health Sciences.
Educational activities include teaching and administration of seminars,
mentoring and supervision of trainees in our APA Accredited Clinical Psychology
Pre-Doctoral Internship Program, as well as medical students, residents,
fellows, post docs, trainees in related disciplines, and participation in educational
committees. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience and
academic background.

Known for its
natural beauty and temperate climate, Albuquerque is New Mexico's largest city
and sits at the base of the Sandia Mountains on the edge of the Rio Grande
Valley. With its rich multicultural history, active arts community, and
proximity to Santa Fe and Taos, Albuquerque is home to the University of New
Mexico, Kirtland Air Force Base, Sandia National Laboratories, Intel and the
Isotopes.

Minimum
Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree
  in clinical psychology or related field
• Clinical
  experience, minimum 1 year
• Licensed in New
  Mexico
  
• Must be
  eligible to work in the United States
  
• Experience
  working with Native American communities in New Mexico providing clinical care
  to Pueblo populations.
  
• Experience
  providing integrated behavioral health services in a primary care setting with
  Native American populations across the lifespan.
• Experience
  working on suicide prevention efforts

Preferred
Qualifications:

• Educational,
  teaching and supervision experience with psychology interns, post doctoral
  fellows and/or trainees in multiple disciplines.
• Experience with
  working with Native American populations, especially from Pueblo communities in
  New Mexico.
  
• A demonstrated
  commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New
  Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global
  communities.
  
• Experience
  providing Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. and
  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention.
  
• Experience
  working in Indian Health Services primary care clinics providing integrated
  behavioral health care.
  
• Experience
  working on research initiatives related to integrated care.
  
• Experience in
  grant writing and administering federal grants.
  
• Experience
  writing technical reports for policymakers.
  
• Experience with
  cultural adaptation of evidence based and best practices.
  
• Experience
  working with the Indian Health Services on suicide prevention efforts.
  
• Experience
  facilitating webinars on evidence-based practice implementation in tribal
  communities and with Native American populations.
