| Position Summary |
The Student Engagement and Retention Specialist Position is a central role that helps facilitate and promote student engagement and career readiness opportunities for Franklin College undergraduate students. Situated within the Office of Student Pathways/Engagement and Success, the Student Engagement and Retention Specialist Position works together with the (Student Pathways/Engagement and Success Coordinator) and the Senior Director for the Office of Student Academic Services to create and maintain systems that support student engagement opportunities and initiatives focused on retaining students in the Franklin College at
UGA. This position would be a primary facilitator and contact for routing and tracking MOUs required for Franklin College internship experiences earning academic credit. The person in this role will work closely with academic departments and Internship and Career Coordinators in the college to broaden internship site access and troubleshoot
MOU concerns with
UGA General Counsel. The Student Engagement and Retention Specialist Position will work closely with partner offices across campus (e.g. Experiential Learning, Career Center, Pre-Professional Advising Office, etc.) to develop, support, and promote opportunities for Franklin College students.
This position is the primary contact for developing and maintaining engagement pages on the
OSAS website A thorough knowledge of the following university data and reporting software is necessary:
ARGOS,
SAGE, Banner, and DegreeWorks, as well as Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. |

Facilitate internship MOU process for Franklin College
- Manage DocuSign system for MOU routing.
- Work closely with departmental Internship and Career Coordinators to ensure appropriate MOUs are in place for student experiences.
- Track and report current MOUs.
- Liaise with UGA General Counsel regarding MOU modifications and updates.
- Communicate with OSAS Academic Advisors regarding internship opportunities, process, and appropriate contacts.
- Liaise with Experiential Learning to help coordinate internships for credit.

- Serve as OSAS liaison with Career Services, especially with regard to internship and employment opportunities for Franklin College Students.
- Coordinate with Advising Managers and Academic Advisors to plan events for students within specific programs or divisions that highlight career or experiential opportunities.
- Develop and maintain Career Guides and Quick Facts sheets for Franklin College departments/divisions.
- Liaise with Franklin CREATE! to promote CREATE! courses and opportunities amongst advisors and to students.
