Position Overview:
Consider joining our team as a Business/Systems Analyst 2 for the Enterprise Financial Systems Support (EFS Support) department. We work closely in support of the University's Administration and the user community to provide analytical support of systems and underlying financial business processes and reports. We focus on systems issue resolution, system upgrades, batch processing, system configuration and enhancements to processes and system functionality. This position is responsible for systems and business process analysis, design, implementation (to include change management), report development, and testing within our Enterprise Financial and HR systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Special Projects - Process Design & System Implementation / Upgrade (50%):

  • This comprises activities/projects that could be considered one off or possibly cyclical. Examples of this are:

    • Application Upgrade and Planning
    • Critical Systems and Infrastructure Patching - Vendor
    • Fiscal Year End Processing and System Configuration

Related Business Process Software Implementation Production Support (25%):

  • Provide technical and functional support to resolve system-related challenges including troubleshooting user issues, monitoring batch processes, and supporting FinOps operations to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal analysts, business stakeholders, developers, and external vendors to ensure solutions meet user needs and system standards.

Analysis, Functional Design (15%):

  • Analyze and resolve issues that may require application development or a significant amount of research. Functional design documents are written to specify the needed development or process change.
  • Develop functional design documents, test plans, and user documentation to support system development and upgrades.

Development Life Cycle SDLC Management (10%):

  • Development and testing of finance analytical reports.
  • Testing efforts associated with application development and or system maintenance. System Test and Regression Testing on a monthly release cycle.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree and two years relevant business or systems experience, or a Master's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in an analyst capacity with PeopleSoft, SAP, or other enterprise financial system (ERP).
  • Previous financial or HR business knowledge including:
    • Payroll Accounting (Commitment Accounting)
    • Payroll
    • HCM Integration
    • Position Management / Budget
    • Grants, Projects and Contracts
    • Billing and Accounts Receivable
  • Prior accounting experience / knowledge of financial reporting.
  • Previous employment experience in higher education, government, or a public entity.
  • Ability to identify solutions to operational issues.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with SQL/SQL developer.
  • Understanding of information needed to support relevant business processes and decisions.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $74,608 - $88,854 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment
