Job Summary

The University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute (UMDI) Real Property Facilities Initiative (RPFI) Data Management Analyst (DMA) is responsible for developing, managing, analyzing, processing, and maintaining RPFI data systems. The DMA oversees and manages RPFI data systems, maintains the integrity of data systems, and generates reports. This position has a heavy focus on activities related to data collection, analysis, and reporting findings as required by the RPFI.

Essential Functions

Oversees the management, administration, security and quality assurance of all RPFI data management systems, ensuring compliance with RPFI policies, federal requirements, and data-sharing protocols.

Produces official project documentation, reports, and communications for OHS Central Office, Regional Offices, and other project stakeholders.

Coordinates all aspects of primary data collection, including logistics, instrument and training development, collaboration with the Office of Head Start (OHS). Office of Grants Management, and Regional Offices, and the timely collection, distribution, and reporting of research data.

Conducts quantitative and qualitative data analysis and produces high-quality reports, dashboards, data visualizations, and narrative summaries that support project deliverables and inform OHS and RPFI leadership.

Develops, delivers, and provides ongoing training, technical assistance, guidance documents, infographics and procedural resources to build staff proficiency in RPFI, federal, UMDI systems and processes.

Monitors data integrity across RPFI systems, evaluates data quality, and implements continuous improvement strategies to ensure accurate and reliable analytical outcomes.

Coordinates Project operations and administrative functions, including RPFI All-Staff meeting logistics, travel coordination, agenda development, team communications, staff recruitment, onboarding, and orientation to project systems, tools, and policies.

Other Functions

Ensures business unit compliance with all relevant University administrative policies.

Participates in business unit and UMDI-wide initiatives and meetings.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree.

At least three (3) years' experience in data management or analysis.

Ability to analyze, manage and organize large amounts of data.

Demonstrated proficiency in collaborative software such as Smartsheet and professional office software, including Microsoft applications Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

High levels of accuracy and organization, and the necessity to meet deadlines working in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize, work independently as well as engage in collaborative research in a team setting.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and recognize situations in which confidentiality is required.

Ability to facilitate data presentations in person or via a virtual platform.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree.

Academic Disciplines: Education, Sociology, Public Health, Public Policy, Psychology or related disciplines.

Experience with statistical software such as Stata, SPSS, R, or SAS.

Additional Details

This is a full-time benefited position.

This position is funded by grants and/or contracts, and is contingent upon funding.

Home-based office environment must include high-speed internet access and be sufficiently free of distractions.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion.

Work Schedule and Work Arrangement

Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week.

This position has the opportunity for a remote work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where the employee's work location is to work from a site other than the UMass Amherst campus. As this position falls within the Professional Staff Union, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the Professional Staff Union collective bargaining agreement.
