Position Highlights

The UACC is seeking to hire two Research Technician II positions that will be a part of the cancer research training program called the "Center for Innovation in Cancer Research Training (CICRT) Post-Baccalaureate Fellows Program." Funding for the program comes from the American Cancer Society. Successful applicants will spend two years in the program, conducting and supporting cancer-related laboratory or field research under the guidance of the faculty member who is leading the research.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Carries out research projects following established protocols in order to meet the goals of a research group, maintaining logs and records of experimental data.
  • Analyzes data and interprets research results; writes research progress reports documenting the experimental plan, data and interpretations, to communicate the findings to the team leader(s) and any collaborators.
  • Involved and familiar with research studies being conducted, the applicable background, research protocols and procedures.
  • As appropriate for the research project, uses and maintains scientific equipment needed to carry out the research tasks.
  • Conducts library and computer searches for research; modifies established protocols to meet the needs of the project and improve tests that are unsatisfactory.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of research content, practices and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science field.
