The College of Innovation and Technology (CIT) is hiring for one or more tenure-track positions as an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department, specifically in the areas of statistics. The department offers undergraduate programs in Mathematics and Actuarial Mathematics, and undergraduate and graduate programs in Data Analytics. Successful candidates will teach courses in these fields (typically a teaching load of two 4-credit courses per semester), mentor students, develop new courses and/or programs, and establish a robust research program leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals and a strong potential for external grant funding. Candidates with experience with actuarial mathematics will be given extra consideration. Applicants should clearly indicate their field of expertise in their cover letter, and we strongly encourage applicants to highlight the potential for their research to interface with undergraduate students, community partnerships, and/or industrial applications. The College of Innovation & Technology (CIT) is growing and is in the midst of a significant faculty hiring initiative. An aim of the college is to continue to develop strong ties with regional industries, leading to applied research and experiential learning opportunities. Startup packages for the successful candidates include generous funding. The University of Michigan-Flint is a regional public university and one of the three campuses of the University of Michigan. The College of Innovation & Technology is experiencing significant growth and is well positioned to expand and serve a population of students from the region and beyond. recblid bv1kyhlcyq2tnb0hp8k8adf9n6v1qb | |
