Position Summary Under general supervision, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and perform maintenance and repairs on all types of kitchen equipment and appliances.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and service all heating, refrigeration, and ventilation units, including exhaust fans
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of chillers, chilled water distribution systems, heating systems, and associated components, and perform water treatment tests on cooling towers and heating/cooling loops
- Set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair industrial kitchen equipment and appliances
- Monitor and adjust temperatures and pressures of equipment at regular intervals for proper operating levels
- Operate hot water boilers, repair and adjust gas burners, check and recalibrate operating controls, and adjust regulators
- Repack and/or replace pump seals, fittings, valves, and lubricate and replace bearings, open drains and valves, wash boilers, and pack valves
- Maintain log information on the operation of equipment, such as temperature, pressure, fuel consumption, and heating boilers
- Maintain plant equipment in accordance with established efficiency and safety standards
- Perform all aspects of general maintenance
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent certificate and a minimum of three years' experience directly related to the job duties. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand moderately complex plans, drawings, schematics, and operation manuals
- General knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the craft; general knowledge of safety regulations and building codes
- General knowledge of the theory and operation of major types of refrigeration and heating equipment
- Knowledge of appliance repair
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math at a level appropriate to the duties of the position

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
- Work is performed both inside and outside
- Work is heavy in nature, with a maximum weight of 100 pounds to lift and carry
- Work is performed in conditions with exposure to noise, vibration, dirt, odor, fumes, toxic situations, and/or electrical issues that may be hazardous
- Work requires climbing and/or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching, handling, using hands or fingers, hearing, and seeing
- Must have the physical dexterity to operate a variety of equipment
