You'll Support Meaningful Work By:

  • Maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, building automation, and environmental control systems to support safe and efficient facility operations.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues to minimize disruptions and ensure reliable building performance.
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities across building systems, equipment, and grounds.
  • Supporting repairs and maintenance related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, fire protection, and life safety systems.
  • Operating facility equipment, lifts, and material-handling devices while following safety standards and established procedures.
  • Responding to maintenance emergencies and after-hours service needs to support uninterrupted business operations.
  • Collaborating with contractors, vendors, and facility team members to complete maintenance projects and operational priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, HVAC, or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, refrigeration systems, pneumatics, electronic controls, and building systems.
  • Ability to perform building maintenance and repair activities in a variety of facility environments.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and materials as required by the role.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and emergency response situations when needed.

Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Steelcase will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization and/or visas for this role.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • EPA certification for refrigerant recovery and recycling.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, MIOSHA, EPA, and indoor air quality (IAQ) standards and regulations.
  • Experience operating forklifts, aerial lifts, and other maintenance-related equipment.
  • Knowledge of computerized energy management systems and building automation systems.
  • Working knowledge of state and local mechanical codes and permitting requirements.
  • Experience working safely at heights and in industrial, warehouse, office, or commercial facility environments.
  • Experience utilizing diagnostic and testing equipment to troubleshoot facility systems and equipment.
