This position will involve ultrafast X-ray total scattering aimed at understanding ion transport in solid state electrolytes. This will couple THz excitation of ion motion in ceramic electrolytes followed by ultrafast total scattering or pair distribution function (ufPDF). The project will involve the development and use of advanced x-ray scattering as well as electrochemical characterization of model electrolytes. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be Coordination of ThZ experiments with PDF experiments at SLAC, EUXFEL and other XFELs. Analysis of large data sets with PDF. Interpretation of the ufPDF. What You Should Know This is a temporary position that will be paid on an hourly basis. What We Can Offer The hire rate for this position will be $30.00 per hour. What We Require Ph.D. in physics, materials sciences, chemistry, or a related field. What You Will Need Strong experimental, analytical and computation skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse population; good interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. What We Would Like You to Have Experience with synchrotron X-ray scattering and PDF methods. Experience with energy storage chemistries.
