Job Description: The Manufacturing Supervisor I exists to empower, develop, build trust, and lead their team to operational excellence, while aligned with cGMP compliance and safety. Responsible for overseeing aseptic manufacturing operations with increased autonomy. Drives production performance, leads team development, manages operational issues, and ensures consistent execution of cGMP-compliant manufacturing activities. Manufacturing Execution & Compliance
- Lead daily manufacturing execution across assigned areas to ensure compliant, and efficient production.
- Promote and maintain a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
- Accountable for functional key performance indicators and evaluations for management reviews. (Own
- KPIs and be able to speak to them when not met, along with improvement plans)
- Drive operational excellence through strong floor presence, execution of Leader Standard Work, and reinforcement of manufacturing standards.
- Oversee production readiness including staffing, materials, equipment status, and documentation accuracy.
- Actively manage production performance, staffing levels, and operational metrics to ensure target attainment.
- Ensure compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, aseptic standards, and environmental monitoring requirements.
- Review and approve manufacturing documentation including batch records and logbooks.
Deviations, Investigations & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct root cause analysis and improvement opportunity identification to drive resolution of complex operational issues impacting production flow or compliance.
- Identify and implement process improvements and corrective/preventative actions to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
People Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop frontline employees to improve performance and capability.
- Coach effective problem-solving with employees to involve them in Continuous Improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations, feedback discussions, and development planning.
- Support training, cross-training, and skill development initiatives.
- Reinforce accountability, behavioral expectations, and safety & quality culture.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive working environment.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, Engineering, and Validation to resolve production issues.
- Support planning activities including staffing, scheduling, and operational readiness.
- Communicate operational risks, production performance, and escalation issues to leadership.
Qualifications: Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates Degree can be used in lieu of 2 years' experience.
- Minimum 2 years in manufacturing, production, operations, logistics, or other regulated environment.
- Demonstrated lead, trainer, coordinator, or informal leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, TrackWise and MasterControl.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a production environment.
- Collaboration and team building.
- Accountability * Risk assessment.
- Passion for cGMP compliance and Continuous Improvement.
Preferred:
- Associate degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Life Sciences, or related field preferred.
- Manufacturing / Pharmaceutical experience preferred.
- Experience working in a GMP, FDA-regulated, or highly controlled manufacturing environment preferred.
- Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or food manufacturing experience.
- Experience leading shift activities, onboarding, or employee development.
- Experience with deviation management, investigations, training compliance, and quality systems.
- Proven ability to lead complex operations and multiple work groups.
- Demonstrated experience coaching supervisors, trainers, leads, or high-potential employees.
Working Environment:
- Vision Requirements: 20/30 Corrected Near-Point.
- Exposure to latex.
- Exposure to moderate noise level.
- Possible Contact with cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to sit stand for extended periods of time.
- Work in a cleanroom.
