Description

In this role you will be responsible for performing cashier functions in the hospital Cafeteria and its coffee bar. As a Cashier, you will multitask between preparing beverages and processing transactions.

Responsibilities include:



  • Process customer transactions on a computerized cash register station
  • Follow beverage recipes and coffee standards
  • Maintain and organize work station for cleanliness and orderliness, ensure that areas are appropriately filled and stocked
  • Reconciliation of daily cash reports and securing deposits in a proper manner
  • Assist assigned areas including food service stations as required by operational needs



This is a part-time "as needed" per diem position; schedule and working hours will vary.

Qualifications

  • Demonstratedskills in handling computerized cash registers to process transactions.
  • Skill in making change, handling currency, and being able to recognize counterfeit bills easily.
  • Skill in performing basic bookkeeping transactions.
  • Mathematical skills to insure accuracy in calculating and generating deposits and postings according to University Policy.
  • Ability to adhere to all Departmental, University, and Hospital policies as relevant to cash handling procedures.
  • Ability to function fully as a team member, participating in on-going performance improvement projects.
  • Ability to interact with both internal and external customers in a high volume operation with diplomacy and patience.
  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, reach, lift, push, and pull for prolonged periods of time in hot and cold areas.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all safety and sanitation procedures as outlined by JC and HACCP standards.
  • Skill in reading, speaking, and writing English.
  • Ability to travel to multiple UCLA Health locations.
