Mechanic

Northwest Container Services (NWCS), a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a highly motivated & safety driven,Mechanicto work on a variety of lifts, chassis, small engines, gen sets, and construction equipment at our site in Portland, Oregon.

Pay range is$28-$35/HR DOE

Schedule isMonday-Friday

Shift is5:00 AM to 1:30 PMwith some overtime as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Shows up to work on time every day ready to work.
• Performs repairs and assignedpreventive maintenanceservices.
• Diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, suspension, differential, planetary, wet andair brakeson vehicles and equipment.
• Have basic computer / electronic skills.
• Utilize vehicle computerelectronic systemsand laptop programs for repairs.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate andOSHAstandards.
• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 75 pounds.

The ideal candidate possess:

• Have a Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Provide your ownmechanicstools.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate service and technical information.
• Would prefer a Minimum of2 to 4 yearsof experience working withheavy equipment. Would be open to high school or college graduates looking to get trained in theheavy equipmentfield.
