Hannaford actively seeks out farmers and producers to join our Local program which celebrates not only local foods, but the preservation of farmland, local traditions and local jobs. The connection we have to the source of our fresh foods is core to the way we do business, becoming the first major supermarket in the United States to document that all its seafood products were sustainably harvested. Hannaford offers a flexible work environment, with a hybrid work expectation for field-based positions of being physically present in-store and/or a General Office in your territory at least 3 days a week. Prospective candidates must reside in one of Hannaford's five (5) operating states (ME, NH, MA, VT, NY). Position Summary: Provide leadership while effectively balancing the needs of associates, customers and stakeholders. Effectively guide our culture through personal support and action. Foster a talent growth process that identifies and develops talented associates. Lead and influence Hannaford's business strategy and assure strategic planning is aligned with corporate goals and vision. Ensure a high level of effective execution with focus on continuous improvement. Deliver on standard practices across all store operations. Maximize profitable sales and achieve budgeted financial objectives. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Talent Development: > Coach Store Managers to strengthen retail skills and develop leaders capable of embracing our strategy and willing to accept ownership for performance. > Create and maintain a talent growth management process to ensure the development of future leaders. > Promote and role model a culture that demonstrates a genuine concern for people and their needs while fostering high standards of performance. > Openly strive for self-development through in-depth feedback to create a developmental course of action. > Demonstrate a genuine concern for people and their needs, ensuring that they are treated fairly and with respect. Achieve Results: > Drive Hannaford strategies through implementation of practices that positively impact the district to achieve goals. > Lead a business plan process within and outside the district that highlights opportunities and drives the business forward. > Facilitate collaboration and build strong relationships with leaders, colleagues, and associates to achieve results as a team. Qualifications and Experience: > Extensive retail management experience > Thorough understanding of store operations and total merchandising practices.
