The Clearing is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support a high-profile, mission-critical project within the Department of War. The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with technical subject-matter experts, project leaders, and client stakeholders to support organizational change, improve business outcomes, and ensure the successful adoption of collaboration and information-management tools. Qualified candidates must have a Top Secret security clearance (or one that's been active within the past two years) and be willing to work on-site at the client location in Arlington, VA.

As a Senior Data Analyst at The Clearing, you will lead efforts to leverage complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies that drive client outcomes. You will improve client decision-making and processes through complex data insights, accuracy, and integrity. You will manage small- to medium-sized projects, guide teams, and ensure that client work meets or exceeds expectations. Your role will involve cultivating team members and clients by modeling The Clearing's core consulting approaches, mindsets, and behaviors. You'll take ownership of project financials, client satisfaction, and deliverables, playing a critical role in integrating scientific insights into consulting work.

What You'll Do

  • Utilize data analysis to support client recommendations, strategic change initiatives, and process improvements
  • Develop compelling reports and presentations that effectively integrate data, storytelling, and visualizations (including dashboards, charts, and graphs) to communicate insights clearly
  • Perform advanced coding in tools such as Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, R, Python, and SQL, with a working knowledge of BI tools like Power BI, Qlik Sense, and Tableau
  • Analyze trends, clean and prepare datasets, and ensure data quality through extensive peer Quality Assurance (QA) reviews
  • Translate client objectives into clear, data-centered strategies, using non-technical language
  • Design and implement intelligent workflows and solutions using tools such as Zapier, Pickaxe, and Lovable, with a focus on integrating large language models (LLMs) into business processes and user-facing applications
  • Develop trusted professional relationships with clients and manage client requirements and expectations
  • Support business development efforts and expand project scopes by sharing insights on emerging trends and market developments; Pursue and secure follow-on or plus-up project work and coordinate capture activities for net-new growth
  • Lead and facilitate client meetings
  • Manage project lane(s)
  • Support the professional development of junior team members
  • Contribute to content development for TC's Knowledge Base and Solution Kits
  • Develop thought leadership materials showcasing your knowledge and application of TC's solutions
  • Collaborate creatively with customer data sources and develop data visualizations
  • Ensure data quality through extensive peer QA reviews, translating objectives into strategies
Requirements
  • Active Top Secret clearance (or active within the past two years).
  • Willingness and ability to work onsite in Arlington, Virginia
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship
  • A master's degree in a highly analytical field (e.g., STEM, social sciences, data analytics, or data science)
  • Six (6)+ years of relevant professional experience in management consulting or a client-facing environment, with at least four (4) years as a data analyst or data scientist
  • Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau)
  • Experience in Data Mining, Data Lakes, Warehousing, Machine Learning, and AI is preferred
  • Strong communication skills to present complex data to non-technical audiences
  • Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience in change management, strategic planning, or strategic communication; Program management or organizational design expertise; PMP and/or Prosci Change Management certification

Physical and Mental Requirements

While performing duties of this job, an employee may be required to perform any, or all of the following: attend meetings in and out of the office, travel (sometimes extensively); occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand; communicate effectively (both orally and in writing); ability to effectively use computers and other electronic and standard office equipment; and occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work is primarily sedentary, involving sitting for several hours at a time. Occasionally, tasks such as walking, climbing stairs, and standing are required in this role. Additionally, this job requires certain mental demands, including the ability to use sound judgment, withstand moderate stress, and maintain attention to detail. Compensation

The projected annual salary range for this position is between $96,000.00 and $144,000.00. Actual compensation and starting salaries are determined based on various factors, including the candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications, and clearance level, as well as internal equity. Once at The Clearing, movement through pay bands is based on performance. Base annual salary is just one component of The Clearing's total compensation philosophy and approach.
