The Division of Renal Medicine/Nephrology at UMass Memorial Medical Center is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative and growing team in Worcester, Massachusetts.

As part of a nationally recognized academic health system, you will work alongside expert nephrologists and interdisciplinary care teams to provide comprehensive care for patients across the continuum of kidney disease. This role offers a unique blend of outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, including nephrology clinic, ESRD management, dialysis rounding, and care coordination with rehabilitation facilities. Our division is committed to advancing patient care, education, and research while developing innovative models of care for individuals with complex renal conditions.

Key Highlights:

  • Work collaboratively with a nephrology team consisting of 4-6 physicians.
  • Diverse clinical practice with a mix of outpatient nephrology, inpatient ESRD management, and dialysis care.
  • Participate in 2-3 outpatient clinic sessions per week caring for patients with chronic kidney disease and related conditions.
  • Shared inpatient ESRD service coverage with a team of APP colleagues.
  • Round at outpatient dialysis centers and collaborate closely with dialysis staff and community providers.
  • Provide consultative services at rehabilitation facilities with on-site dialysis programs.
  • Work within a nationally recognized academic medical center committed to clinical excellence and innovation.
  • Utilize Epic EMR and integrated technology platforms that support coordinated, efficient patient care.
  • Strong collaboration with specialists in Diabetes, Palliative Care, Urology, and other disciplines.
  • Predictable weekday schedule with shared Saturday ESRD coverage every 4-5 weekends.

Qualifications:

  • A Masters degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Eligible or current Massachusetts license, with national certification (ANCC, AANP, NCCPA, as applicable)
  • Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration are required.
  • Preferred: 3-5 years of APP level experience
