Description

The Senior Maintenance Supervisor E&I oversees and coordinates the maintenance activities for the Mill. Leads a daily crew of 4-8 Maintenance Technicians (4 on days, 4 on shift) and 1 electrical contractor who maintains/repairs process equipment and other assets for the facility (electrical and instrumentation, mechanical, building equipment and grounds). Facilitates hiring technicians, responsible for organizing schedules, and assigning work activity. Performs training to ensure individuals have all required skills. Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing maintenance procedures and maintaining skills and training records. Supervisor monitors and evaluates each technician's performance and provides guidance, coaching and development where needed. Supervisor is involved in the investigation of incidents/accidents. This position will have an E&I focus and will work directly with the Sr. Maintenance Supervisor (Mechanical).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides leadership to the Maintenance team by maintaining standards in safety. Ensures all individual safety training is completed on time, as required. Participates and supports the accident investigation process.
  • Drives engagement & accountability within the maintenance team to deliver results. Leads and encourages problem solving by all team members in addressing opportunities within the workplace. Proactively works to ensure exceptional customer service is delivered by the team.
  • Oversees the planning, coordination and execution of all non-shutdown facility maintenance to optimize equipment uptime, safety, and operational performance. Submit maintenance budget recommendations, monitor expenditures, prepare cost estimates, and provide support for Mill projects. Additionally, monitors and recommends labor and overtime needs.
  • Oversees the Maintenance Work Order System with measurable metrics.
  • Review and recommend the procurement of required parts and/or services to ensure maximum equipment up time, equipment reliability and operational excellence.
  • Responsible for the building & grounds infrastructure preservation to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment for all employees as well as protecting our capital assets.
  • Responsible for team development and training by providing guidance, mentoring, coaching, development and training opportunities. Responsible for completing midyear and annual performance reviews by the required deadline and develops performance goals and metrics for the team. .
  • Provide input on new equipment and modifications, standardize equipment specifications, considering reliability and ease of maintenance. Gives input on required critical spares based on overall risk.
  • This position may be required to work extended hours and weekends depending on mill needs.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Two-year degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Instrumentation & Control, Electrical Engineering or extensive applicable experience in a related role or any equivalent combination of education, experience or training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • 7+ years industrial maintenance experience.
  • 3+ years previous experience in leading others.

  • Strong organization, time management and planning skills required to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to changes in business requirements in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to motivate and lead a team.

  • Strong decision-making ability, including the ability to anticipate problems, develop contingency plans and act quickly to resolve issues.
  • Strong management skills with a proven track record of developing team members through coaching, mentoring, and growth opportunities; fostering accountability; and effectively navigating difficult employee conversations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical/blueprint drawings and specification documents.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization; professionally represents self and LPI to external contacts.
  • Strong attention to detail/commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Pulp and Paper industry experience highly preferred.
  • 5+ years previous experience leading others is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with PLC's, logic, controls and drives (Rockwell, ABB Siemens) systems highly preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting base salary range for this position is $88,226-$110,282 per year plus eligibility in annual bonus program. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses or deferred compensation options.
