Position Summary The Defense Systems Division is part of the Parker Aerospace Group, located in Irvine, California. Our products are used across military and commercial platforms globally. We specialize in cutting edge thermal management systems and components including fans, pumps and compressors, ammunition handling systems, weapon scoring systems, dynamic pressure sensors, piezoelectric accelerometers, towed targets, reeling machines, and associated telemetry. JOB SUMMARY Under general supervision, carries out engineering assignments concerned with the planning and design of mechanically functioning equipment and processes. Performs drawing reviews from Drafters/Designers. Supports Engineers for simple to medium level complexity projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs assignments of mild complexity and assists other Engineers.
- Designs mechanical equipment, systems and processes.
- Performs calculations and analyses to ensure suitability of design.
- Solves problems related to the assembly, repair and test of environmental control systems.
- Performs assignments which involve responsibility for a secondary project or a part of a major project.
- May give direction to drafters/designers.
- Works with colleagues across all levels of the division.
- Writes reports as required.
- Presents designs to peers, fellow engineers and customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: BSME from accredited college or university.
- Zero to three years of experience in designing mechanical components/subsystems and applying ASME Y14.5M.
- Requires strong oral/written communication skills and must be capable of conducting effective oral presentations.
- Requires the ability to interact effectively with fellow engineers and members from other departments, customers, vendors and corporate management.
- Requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team; against deadlines, time constraints and with limited resources.
- Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and possess the ability to create spreadsheets, word processing documents and presentations.
- Knowledge of applied thermodynamics and mechanical design required.
- Extended hours and overtime are occasionally required to meet job requirements.
- Travel is occasionally required.
- Must be a US Citizen.

- Pay Range: $70890 to $117300 annually
- Participation in Annual Incentive Program
