Job Description Secondary Operations Operator
The secondary operations operator is responsible for collecting parts, drilling, punching, grinding, beveling & gathering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Including the following, however, additional duties may apply as required)
  • Collect and expedite parts to prepare for next option
  • Verifies correct quantity and quality of all parts
  • Performs 1st piece and random dimensional inspections
  • Operate a sander/grinder to deburr all parts
  • Read, convert and understand metric drawings
  • Perform operations such as; drill, grind, bevel, ream, tap, bore, spot face, etc.
  • Select speeds and feeds, tooling and operational sequences best suited to materials and nature of operation
  • Layout and drill using drawings, specifications, templates and job layouts
  • Setups involve some blocking, aligning and securing of work piece
  • Move material using a forklift and crane according to standard operating procedure, safety regulations and practices
  • Follows established safety practices and regulations. Properly uses safety equipment and devices to prevent hazardous conditions, unsafe practices and accidents
  • Be available to work every day, on time
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Good math skills
  • Experience with drilling/grinding, etc.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations required. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Physical Demands
Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane, forklift or stand-up may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
