Job Details:

The Johns Hopkins Hospital Surgical Oncology Unit (Weinberg 4C/D)is a 27 bed unit with a focus on surgical oncology patients. Patients include those who have undergone GI, Head and Neck, and General surgery. This is an acute care level floor, however, the patients require specialized nursing care, assessments, and education. Working on Weinberg 4CD provides Registered Nurses (RNs) with an opportunity to learn new skills such as tracheostomy management, develop time-management, and be a part of a family-oriented multidisciplinary team. Each shift has a charge nurse without a direct care assignment, and on many shifts, there is a clinical mentor nurse from 10:30am to 11:00pm to enhance your learning and development. There is also a virtual nurse role that helps to support this unit. This nurse works in a hybrid location within the hospital, and assists with a variety of tasks including admissions, discharges, and patient education.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Nursing required
  • Applicants with an Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered, provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 4 years of hire
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
  • BLS CPR certification required
  • No RN work experience required! Training will be provided -All New Grad RNs are automatically enrolled in our Nurse Residency Program ranked #3 in the nation!
