Eng Supervisor - COLUMBIA Class Propulsion Systems (Shafting Components)
Overview The COLUMBIA Class Propulsion Systems - Shafting Components group is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Engineering Supervisor to lead and manage a team responsible for procurement, design, test, analysis, and manufacturing efforts for propulsion shafting components. Major components include the Low Speed Coupling (LSC), Main Thrust Bearing (MTB), Main Shaft Brake, Lock and Turning Gear (BLTG), Main Shaft Seal (MSS) system, the main propulsion shaft, and waterborne bearings. This supervisor will oversee the D489 shafting team's responsibilities, including specification development, component design, qualification testing, analysis, design disclosures, and component shipboard integration. The role also includes coordination with multiple suppliers to manage component development and provide technical and programmatic support throughout design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery. Around 10% travel is expected in this role. Responsibilities
