Welding Engineer - Supplier Oversight
Overview Welding Engineer - Supplier Oversight (Welding & NDT Engineering) We are seeking an experienced Welding Engineer to join our Supplier Oversight Group, supporting the fabrication of critical components used in the construction of nuclear submarines. This role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and government customers while influencing the quality and reliability of complex welded structures. Key Responsibilities * Conduct audits of supplier welding operations to verify compliance with contractual and technical requirements. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology in one of the following disciplines: - Mechanical Engineering * Minimum of 5 years of postgraduate engineering experience in an industrial welding environment, shipbuilding, or other heavy fabrication settings. * This role will require travel to supplier locations as needed, typically up to one week at a time and up to once per month. Preferred Qualifications: * Handson experience with fundamental arc welding processes and a strong understanding of welding metallurgy. Skills
Candidate must be highly motivated, perform independently, as well as interact with other groups and organizations, including interfacing regularly with SUPSHIP or NAVSEA customers, in an engineering environment
