Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views. JOB PURPOSE: To maintain the highest standards possible for the guest by insuring quick, efficient, and professional Barback, Food Runner, and Dining Room Attendant services. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Bar Back * Stock and replenish bar supplies and beverages * Maintain adequate ice, glassware, paper supplies, and garnishes * Keep bar and storage areas clean and organized * Assist bartenders during service * Restock coolers and liquor storage * Remove trash and maintain cleanliness * Assist with opening and closing duties * Monitor inventory and communicate shortages * Follow sanitation, safety, and service standards * Assist with keg and equipment changes as needed * Complete side work and restaurant opening/closing duties * Perform other duties as assigned by management Food Runner * Ability to learn and communicate ingredients and preparations of culinary dishes to guests * Deliver food from the kitchen to guests promptly and accurately * Ensure plates are properly presented before leaving the kitchen * Assist servers with food delivery and table maintenance * Communicate with kitchen and service staff regarding orders * Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas * Complete side work and restaurant opening/closing duties * Follow food safety and sanitation standards * Monitor guest needs and communicate requests to the server * Perform other duties as assigned by management QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum 1 year food runner experience/bar back experience preferred. Other relevant hotel / food & beverage experience will be considered. * Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers, with the ability to answer guest questions and describe menu items. * Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor. * Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department. * Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills. * Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays. ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS: * Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. * Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in an indoor/outdoor environments. * Required repetitive motion of arms, hands, and legs.
