The Instructional Development Specialist will collaborate with the teaching faculty to create and enhance online course materials that increase the flexibility of the college's offerings, maintain the academic integrity of the curriculum, utilize technology to improve pedagogy, and create a high-quality and consistent learning experience for all students.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Using the current learning management system (LMS) and learning technologies supported by the campus, CBA faculty can develop engaging, accessible, equitable, and inclusive new online programs/courses.
  • Enhancing and updating current programs/online courses, including the creation of templates based on the Master Teacher Model being used, updating academic content, assisting instructors with LMS Maintenance, and use of the latest technologies and resources.
  • Help other Instructional Designers to prepare course shells in the learning management system for the upcoming semester, assist with having the course contents moved from a prior term or course master, and update the templates as needed.
  • Consult with the Center for the Advancement of Teaching Excellence and the Media Studio on new and existing course technologies, tools, and online teaching advancements.
  • Keep current with new instructional technologies available to students and faculty and relevant academic and social issues by participating in workshops and training provided by multiple sources.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications Required:

    1. Master's degree in education, educational psychology, or the humanities such as history, political science, literature, journalism, communications, or philosophy
      AND
      Six (6) months of experience which included any of the following areas professional writing or editing, audiovisual design and/or production, design and/or production of evaluation tools, educational programming, curriculum development, or classroom teaching
      OR
    2. Baccalaureate degree in education, educational psychology, or the humanities
      AND
      Eighteen (18) months of experience which included any of the following areas professional writing or editing, audiovisual design and/or production, design and/or production of evaluation tools, educational programming, curriculum development, or classroom teaching
