Join a global technology leader, partnering with Aquent, at the forefront of innovation, where you'll contribute to building the foundational infrastructure that powers groundbreaking services worldwide. This is an opportunity to directly influence the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of complex systems, making a tangible impact on the future of technology.

Are you a meticulous engineer with a passion for optimizing intricate technical environments? We are seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in the design and deployment of our next-generation physical infrastructure. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating complex engineering requirements into robust, real-world solutions, directly shaping the physical backbone that supports our critical operations. Your expertise will ensure our systems are not only cutting-edge but also resilient and highly performant.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate critical infrastructure requirements, including space, power, networking, and advanced cooling solutions (such as liquid cooling), ensuring optimal redundancy for product deployments.
  • Develop precise 2D CAD "test-fits" and detailed floor plans, skillfully manipulating 2D blocks through operations like copying, rotating, and measuring.
  • Translate sophisticated product engineering specifications, covering aspects like rack sizes, power consumption, cabling, fiber optics, connectors, and proximity constraints, into actionable deployment scenarios and comprehensive trade-off analyses.
  • Generate essential deployment documentation, including guides, presentations, spreadsheets, and word documents, effectively communicating findings to collaborating engineering teams and the internal infrastructure design group.
  • Conduct iterative manual "simulations" to thoroughly evaluate design trade-offs and compare multiple design iterations, ensuring the most effective solutions are adopted.
  • Maintain a vital feedback loop with installation and sustaining teams, continuously updating canonical designs based on real-world installation challenges and insights.
  • Present and meticulously document findings with clarity and conciseness to internal teams and peer-level engineers, fostering collaborative decision-making.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong preference for backgrounds in infrastructure engineering or computer/systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated strong proficiency in 2D CAD, including the ability to read, manipulate, and perform basic operations (rotate, copy, paste, measure) on CAD files.
  • Robust electrical and mechanical understanding, encompassing power interfaces, 3-phase systems, various connectors, and critical thermal/clearance considerations.
  • Experience applying systems-level thinking across diverse infrastructure components, including compute, storage, networking, and advanced computing infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to clearly document and present complex trade-offs and recommendations to partner teams, creating concise presentations and spreadsheets.
  • Proficiency with standard office productivity tools (e.g., presentation, spreadsheet, and document software).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
