Aquent, a leading talent solutions company, is thrilled to partner with an innovative and influential organization at the forefront of technology. This company is renowned for its groundbreaking contributions to the digital landscape, driving advancements that impact millions globally. We are seeking a talented individual to join their team and play a pivotal role in shaping the physical infrastructure that powers their cutting-edge products and services.

About the Role: Drive Innovation in Infrastructure Design

Are you a meticulous engineer with a passion for optimizing physical infrastructure? We are looking for a skilled professional to join a dynamic team, where you will directly influence the design and deployment of critical systems. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the foundational elements that enable advanced computing, storage, networking, and machine learning capabilities. Your work will be instrumental in translating complex engineering requirements into tangible, scalable, and efficient deployment solutions, ensuring the seamless operation of next-generation technologies.

Key Responsibilities: Shape the Future of Infrastructure

  • Evaluate and define critical requirements for product deployments, including space, power, networking, and advanced cooling solutions (including liquid cooling), ensuring optimal redundancy.
  • Develop precise 2D CAD "test-fits" and floor plans, skillfully manipulating 2D blocks through copying, rotating, and measuring to create detailed layouts.
  • Translate intricate product engineering specifications, such as rack sizes, power consumption, and connectivity requirements (cable/fiber/connectors, proximity constraints), into comprehensive deployment scenarios and conduct thorough trade-off analyses.
  • Generate essential deployment documentation, including guides, presentations, spreadsheets, and written reports, effectively communicating findings to cross-functional engineering partners and internal design teams.
  • Conduct iterative manual "simulations" to rigorously evaluate design trade-offs and compare multiple design iterations, ensuring robust and optimized solutions.
  • Establish and maintain a vital feedback loop with installation and sustaining teams, continuously updating canonical designs based on real-world installation challenges and lessons learned.
  • Clearly and concisely present and document technical findings to internal teams and peer-level engineers, fostering collaboration and informed decision-making.

Qualifications: What You Bring to the Team

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a similar engineering role, with a strong preference for backgrounds in data center infrastructure or computer/systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated strong proficiency in 2D CAD, including the ability to read, manipulate, and perform measurements within CAD files (e.g., rotate, copy, paste operations).
  • Robust electrical and mechanical understanding, encompassing power interfaces, 3-phase systems, connectors, and critical thermal/clearance considerations.
  • Proven experience in systems-level thinking, with the ability to integrate considerations across compute, storage, networking, and machine learning infrastructure.
  • Exceptional ability to document and present technical trade-offs and recommendations clearly and persuasively to partner teams, utilizing concise presentations and spreadsheets.
  • Proficiency with standard office tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel) for documentation and communication.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field is preferred.
