Technical Trainer - JLL

Position Overview

The Technical Trainer designs, develops, and delivers training programs that enable employees and stakeholders to operate technical systems, software, and equipment effectively. The role translates complex technical concepts into accessible learning experiences across multiple delivery modalities and builds curriculum that accommodates varied learning preferences. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Technical Trainer maintains current system expertise and refines instructional content in response to performance data, thereby supporting organizational technical competency and successful technology adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Training Development & Delivery

Design and deliver technical training programs through multiple modalities, including classroom instruction, virtual sessions, hands-on workshops, and self-paced e-learning. Produce supporting materials such as user guides, quick-reference cards, video tutorials, and interactive simulations that accommodate varied learning preferences. Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and design curriculum that targets the specific technical competencies required across the organization.

Technical Expertise & System Proficiency

Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the systems, software applications, platforms, and technical processes used within the organization. Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and subject-matter experts to interpret technical requirements and translate them into effective instructional strategies. Monitor system updates, new features, and emerging technologies, and revise training content accordingly to ensure ongoing accuracy and relevance.

Learning Assessment & Continuous Improvement

Evaluate training effectiveness using assessments, surveys, hands-on demonstrations, and performance metrics. Analyze feedback and learning outcomes to refine instructional content and delivery methods. Provide one-on-one coaching to learners who require additional support in mastering technical concepts. Track learner progress and identify opportunities to strengthen training impact.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

Build and maintain a centralized repository of training resources, documentation, and best practices. Develop standard operating procedures and job aids that serve as ongoing reference materials. Ensure that all documentation conforms to organizational standards and remains readily accessible to end users. Manage version control to maintain accuracy across all training materials.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Support

Partner with cross-functional teams, including IT, Human Resources, and business units, to align training initiatives with organizational objectives and system implementations. Support change-management efforts by facilitating user adoption of new technologies and processes. Respond to training requests and recommend appropriate learning solutions to address identified performance gaps.

Client Support & Service Excellence

Adhere to business-unit standards to support customer satisfaction through effective training delivery. Maintain account-based training consistency to uphold contractual deliverables and maximize learning outcomes. Adapt promptly to changing client priorities and internal initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field; or four years of material-handling-related experience; or prior experience as a Field Trainer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technical Skills

Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools (for example, Articulate or Adobe Captivate), and virtual training platforms (for example, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Webex). Strong computer literacy across multiple operating systems, software applications, and digital collaboration tools. Experience with screen-recording software, video editing, and multimedia content creation.

Core Competencies

Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt instructional style to varying skill levels. Effective written and verbal communication, including the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, understandable concepts. Sound organizational and project-management skills sufficient to manage multiple concurrent training initiatives. A patient, approachable manner and a demonstrated commitment to helping others learn and succeed.

Preferred Qualifications

Three to five years of experience in technical training, instructional design, or a related role, with a demonstrated record of developing and delivering technical curriculum. Industry-recognized credentials such as the Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+), instructional-design certifications, or Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) certifications. Working knowledge of adult-learning principles, instructional-design methodologies (such as ADDIE - Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation - or the Successive Approximation Model, SAM), and learning analytics. Experience in change management or in supporting system implementations and user-adoption initiatives. Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive learning-design practices.

Working Conditions

This position requires travel of up to 75% to office locations or client sites for training delivery. Flexibility is required to conduct sessions outside standard business hours when necessary to accommodate global teams or to minimize operational disruption.

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

103,200.00 - 113,520.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
