Role Snapshot

The Sr. Business Analyst serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and Information Technology, translating business requirements into technical solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities. The role is responsible for analyzing business processes, developing and enhancing automated workpapers and reporting tools, and supporting the design and maintenance of systems used throughout the cost reporting process. The Sr. Business Analyst is accountable to support the delivery of scalable solutions that support organizational objectives.

Salary Range

80-90k

The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Work Location

Our first consideration will be to have this employee live in the state of Wisconsin to take advantage of Hybrid work and collaboration. Employees within 45 miles of WPS Headquarters (1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI, 53713) will be expected to be able to be able to work Hybrid 2 days a week on a regular basis. **As a secondary consideration, we do offer remote work in the following approved states:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, translating operational needs into technical solutions and system enhancements.


  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance automated workpapers, reports, and business processes using VBA, SQL, Power Query, and related technologies.


  • Analyze data from multiple sources to improve reporting accuracy, streamline workflows, and support audit and financial reporting activities.


  • Collaborate with IT teams to define system requirements, test new functionality, troubleshoot issues, and support implementation of technology solutions.


  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, process documentation, and user guides for automated tools, databases, and reporting solutions.


  • Research emerging technologies and recommend process improvements to enhance automation, efficiency, and data integrity across the department.


  • Other job-related responsibilities may be assigned as required.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.


  • Five (5) or more years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role.


  • Proficient in VBA, Power Query, and SQL Database.


  • Demonstrated experience leading requirements gathering and producing documentation to capture and organize business needs into clear, actionable items.


  • Expertise documenting workflows and identifying opportunities for incremental improvements.


  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to effectively engage stakeholders and maintain progress visibility.


  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to effectively manage priorities and deadlines within short delivery cycles.


  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.


Preferred Qualifications



  • MS Access experience.


  • Knowledge of Medicare cost report process.
