Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. Applications are being accepted for the following vacancies for the Fall 2026 semester on the Faculty staff of Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, New York. Department: Health Sciences and Medical Imaging Instructor - Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography HV-FAC-8714 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in an allied health field or other discipline relevant to the program from an accredited college or university, Master's preferred; possess a credential in the field of adult echocardiography through the ARDMS (or national equivalent); have a minimum total of five years of experience in the field of echocardiography, either as a practicing sonographer or as an instructor in echocardiography, or a combination of both, within the past ten years; experience in curriculum and/or program development; post-secondary teaching experience in echocardiography or related discipline; and familiarity with student academic advisement at a post-secondary institution. The preferred applicant will possess experience with the Joint Review Committee on Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS) accreditation; experience in distance learning delivery; and experience with program assessment practices. DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Instructor, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography reports to the Department Chairperson of Medical Imaging and performs the following duties: * Must maintain current knowledge of professional specialty and educational methodology through continuing professional development. The minimum salary for this position is $53,000 and faculty appointments may be at the instructor or assistant professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. This position includes benefits for 12 months but has a work obligation of a 10-month appointment (151 days), which reflects responsibilities during the fall and spring semesters. The annual assigned teaching load is between thirty (30) and thirty-three (33) contact hours, typically distributed as eighteen (18) contact hours in the fall semester and fifteen (15) contact hours in the spring semester. Teaching load may include evening, weekend and/or online assignments, and there may be potential for additional compensation through voluntary overload.
