THIS IS A TIME-LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 2 YEARS.
This position will serve as a Clinical Research Coordinator supporting the ongoing cohort studies of the Manuck Research Team and the UNC Prematurity Prevention Program. The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization, and conduct of multiple clinical research study protocols, including independently collecting and recording data, project management and administration, and communication with various stakeholders.

The Manuck Research Team's current studies focus on enrolling pregnant individuals who are at a high risk of experiencing medically-indicated or spontaneous preterm birth. The candidate will integrate with other members of the research team to assist with the gathering of social and environmental justice clinical data and biologic samples and obtaining environmental exposures data. The candidate will alos interface with the other members of the Manuck research team and assist with patient recruitment and patient support measures within the confines of the currently ongoing UNC PROTECT and CARE / PTBCARE+ clinical initiative / studies, with the ultimate goals of reducing environmental exposures, improving patient care, and reducing adverse perinatal outcomes.

The candidate's responsibilities will encompass identifying 'high-risk' patients for preterm birth, enrolling them into the ' PTB Care Plus' or ' PROTECT-MC' or other similar ongoing program, assisting with the collection of biologic samples and attainment of both traditional environmental exposures data (eg exposure to toxicants) and other equally important environmental exposures (e.g., socioeconomic status) and supporting them throughout their pregnancy and up to three months postpartum. A significant aspect of this role involves building a supportive relationship with patients and becoming an integral part of the clinical team.

The High Risk Pregnancy Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for patient recruitment and protocol execution (together with other members of the research team), and will assist with project management within the context of the team's current projects.
The candidate in this role is expected to work independently and take initiative. The ability to complete tasks as assigned is imperative.
This role includes flexible job duties as the needs of the program may change daily based on patient appointment schedules.
Work will include some training and supervision of staff, students, and others.

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

-Clinical research experience
-Experience in human-subjects research, including use of UNC research systems
-Experience working with diverse obstetric populations in medical settings
-Strong communication skills
-Bilingual English and Spanish

Given the nature of this work and importance of interacting with and establishing a relationship with patients within the program, the majority of the work will be 'in-person' and on-site. There may be limited opportunities for off-site or hybrid/remote work but this cannot be guaranteed.
