Synchron, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Submarine Modernization Support Program Analyst to support to the U.S. Navy's In-Service Attack Submarines Program Office (PMS 392) at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC! We are seeking a candidate to join our team and provide engineering and technical support services to programs supporting the maintenance and modernization of the U.S. Navy's fleet of Attack Submarines. PMS 392 is part of U.S. Navy's Team Submarine (TSUB) which is responsible for the design, new construction, maintenance and modernization of the nuclear-powered submarine fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Engineering and Technical support services for the oversight, analysis, evaluation, maintenance and review of submarine modernization management and planning documentation.
- Coordinate the review, comment adjudication and approval of Justification Cost Form (JCFs), Ship Alteration Record (SARs), Engineering Change Instruction (ECI), Alteration and Improvements (A&Is), Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), Liaison Action Records (LARs), and Government Furnished Information (GFI) documentation with the TYCOMs, Planning Yards, SUPSHIPs, NAVSEA technical codes and field activities.
- Maintain modernization documentation including Justification Cost Forms (JCFs), Ship Alteration Records (SARs), Engineering Change Instruction (ECI), Alteration and Improvements (A&Is), Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), Liaison Action Records (LARs), and Government Furnished Information (GFI) requests in the appropriate data information systems.
- Provide In-Service Program Manager weekly metrics and status of all Modernization documentation with NAVSEA for review and approval to support Program Manager and other related reviews. At the direction PM, issue all Modernization documentation for initial NAVSEA technical review and comment. Coordinate the review and assist with resolution of comments between reviews of all Modernization documentation sponsors thru approval.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in technical discipline is required (can be replaced by 5 years or more of relevant experience).
- Seven (7) years of professional work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent client interface skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly reliable and demonstrate personal initiative.
- Able to work individually and as part of a team; work well with others; contribute positively to work/team environment while continually seek ways to enhance contribution to the team.
- Active Secret DoD clearance is required; familiarity with handling restrictions (CUI, NOFORN etc.) for sensitive, unclassified and classified documents
Desired Education and Experience
- Experience with Submarine Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems or Hull, Mechanical, Electrical Systems is highly desired.
- Experience with Configuration Management processes.
- NAVSEA experience
- Navy ship or submarine operational experience (to include involvement with maintenance needs, requirements and processes)
Work Location: Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC. Routine Telework is not allowed for this position; Situational Telework may be granted dependent on workload and circumstances.
