Job description
Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer - Azure Government / CMMC (Contract) Location: Spring, TX (Hybrid - 3 days onsite Tue-Thu, remote Mon/Fri) About the Role A well-established organization in the maritime sector is standing up a brand-new Azure Government (GCC High) environment from the ground up, and is looking for a senior Linux engineer to lead the build. This is a project-focused engineering role (roughly 90% build, 10% operational support) - not a ticket-queue administration seat. You'll architect and provision the new government-side Linux infrastructure, implement and verify STIGs, and help drive the organization's CMMC compliance initiative. You'll also write the standards and documentation the rest of the team follows, and mentor junior engineers along the way. If building a secure environment correctly from day one is more interesting to you than maintaining someone else's, this role is built for that. What You'll Do
Must-Have Qualifications
Nice to Have
Environment Hybrid commercial and government infrastructure (~1,000 Linux servers total, ~130 on the government side). Government environment is fully cloud-based; the new build is greenfield. Collaborative team culture that values engineers who ask questions, follow process, and work cross-functionally - not lone wolves.
