Description and Requirements
Position Summary We are seeking a Software Experience Prototype professional to bring future product experiences to life by transforming design concepts into immersive, high-fidelity prototypes. This role bridges the gap between design and engineering, enabling teams to rapidly validate ideas, explore emerging interaction models, and visualize the future of intelligent, connected products before production development begins. Working closely with designers, researchers, and engineers, you will prototype software experiences that span devices, physical environments, and AI-powered ecosystems. You will leverage modern development frameworks, AI tools, and emerging technologies to create compelling experiences that showcase how users interact with ambient, spatial, and multimodal systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with UX designers, industrial designers, researchers, and engineers to translate concepts into high-fidelity interactive software prototypes.
- Design and prototype next-generation user experiences that extend beyond traditional screen-based interactions, including ambient, spatial, and AI-driven experiences.
- Develop cross-device prototypes that demonstrate seamless interactions across hardware, software, sensors, and connected ecosystems.
- Rapidly build functional prototypes that communicate product vision, validate user experiences, and accelerate design decision-making.
- Bridge design intent with technical feasibility by evaluating implementation approaches and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Leverage AI technologies, including LLMs and AI-assisted development tools, to accelerate prototyping workflows and enable new interaction possibilities.
- Create reusable prototyping frameworks, tools, and workflows that improve the efficiency and scalability of the design organization.
- Prototype interactions for products with and without displays, exploring physical interfaces, contextual computing, and connected environments.
- Apply motion design and animation principles to create polished, intuitive, and engaging interactive experiences.
- Facilitate stakeholder alignment by using prototypes to communicate ideas, gather feedback, and reduce ambiguity throughout the product development process.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, software frameworks, AI capabilities, and interaction paradigms to continually evolve the team's prototyping capabilities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Design Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in software prototyping, creative technology, UX engineering, interaction design, product design, or related disciplines.
- Experience developing high-fidelity interactive prototypes for consumer products, software applications, or connected device ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and human-centered design methodologies.
- Proficiency in one or more modern prototyping or development technologies such as Unity, React, Framer, Swift, C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, and research.
- Familiarity with AI tools and LLM-powered workflows for software development and prototyping.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Portfolio demonstrating the progression from early concepts to polished, interactive software prototypes.
- Experience prototyping cross-device experiences that span hardware, software, AI, and connected ecosystems.
- Background as a Creative Technologist, Design Technologist, UX Engineer, Prototyping Engineer, or similar hybrid design-technology role.
- Experience with physical computing platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, IoT devices, or sensor-based systems.
- Knowledge of multimodal interaction design, including voice, gesture, gaze, haptics, spatial interfaces, or ambient computing.
- Experience integrating generative AI, LLMs, or AI services into product experiences or prototyping workflows.
- Understanding of motion design and animation principles to create natural, engaging interactions.
- Experience designing and prototyping for XR, AR/VR, or spatial computing environments.
- Experience building internal tools, prototyping frameworks, or developer utilities that enable rapid experimentation.
- Experience designing across multiple operating systems and connected device ecosystems.
- Strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to design experiences that seamlessly connect users, devices, and intelligent environments.
