Location:1840 NE 10th Ave, Payette, ID
Schedule:Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Occasional Overtime & Saturdays

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspects and repairs vehicles withdiesel engines

  • Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes along with minor and major repairs from A/C,hydraulics, electrical,welding,engine replacement, transmissions, etc.

  • Interprets diagnostic test results accurately

  • Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans in our system

  • Collaborates with other dieselmechanics

  • Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly

  • Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely

  • Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon

  • Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on DriverVehicle InspectionReports

  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate andOSHAstandards

  • Follows all Waste Connections repair shop regulations and standards

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Driver's Licensewith aClean Driving Record (Required)

  • Experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair

  • Providepersonal tools.

  • Class B CDLOR the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment if required.

  • Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.

  • Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

  • Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair.

  • Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position.

  • Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.

  • The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
