Position summary:

Business Analysts in the Enterprise Architecture Group play a critical role in supporting enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, processes and workflows to ensure solutions are aligned with organizational goals and deliver measurable value. Business Analysts support a broad range of initiatives, including product enhancements, system implementations, integrations, upgrades, transformation efforts, process optimizations, and IT/OT infrastructure projects. By applying best-practice business analysis techniques and a strong understanding of business context and challenges, Business Analysts facilitate process discovery, document current-and future-state workflows, and translate approved initiatives into actionable, results-driven projects.

Pay Range: $93,150 - $139,900 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Reporting Relationship: Business Architect

Location: Rapid City, South Dakota

Essential Functions:
* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, process workflows, and system needs. Partners closely with project managers, product managers, business stakeholders, enterprise architects, transformation teams, and technical teams.
* Translate business objectives into user stories, use cases, process maps, and functional specifications
* Facilitate process discovery workshops, interviews, and working sessions with business, IT, and executive stakeholders to elicit requirements, validate solutions, and ensure alignment with business goals.
* Support initiative planning by identifying business impacts, cross-functional dependencies, capability gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement, and documenting current-and future-state workflows and value streams.
* Collaborate closely with project managers and technical teams to ensure deliverables align with business objectives, support strategy execution, and generate measurable value and benefits.
* Translate business needs into structured deliverables, including process maps, requirements, use cases, decision logs, and business summaries.
* Act as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and vendor partners to ensure solutions are feasible, sustainable, aligned with organizational goals, and support shared understanding across stakeholders.
* Maintain and apply knowledge of industry trends, tools, and best practices in business analysis and enterprise systems. Communicate insights, recommendations, and risks with professional candor.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis templates, tools, and training materials.
* Other duties as assigned.

What Is Required:
* Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, engineering, or related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis, preferably supporting IT systems, business process improvement, or transformation-related initiatives.
* Service-oriented mindset with a strong focus on delivering meaningful business value.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey ideas to diverse audiences.
* Skilled in process discovery, process mapping, problem framing, and developing user-centered solutions.
* Strong facilitation, interviewing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proficient in conflict resolution, stakeholder engagement, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
* Strong analytical and conceptual thinking abilities, grounded in objectivity and data-driven insights.
* Ability to document current- and future-state workflows and translate complex business processes into clear, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.

* Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities and driving improvements.
* Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and consistency in all interactions and decision-making.

* Ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and align stakeholders across functional areas.
* This role will be required to travel up to 10% of the time.

What Is Desired:
* Experience with business process modeling, requirements management tools, and stakeholder engagement.
* Experience facilitating workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirements discovery sessions.
* Business analysis certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, IIBA-CCBA)
* Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe, CSM, CSPO)
* Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and Change Management is a plus.
