North Carolina Cooperative Extension gives our residents easy access to the resources and expertise of NC State University and NC A&T State University. Assist Horticulture and Agriculture Agents with programming, conduct school enrichment programs and provide technical support to manage public garden facilities. Assist agent in facilitating Master Gardener Volunteer program.

Employee may be called upon in case of a disaster, either natural or man made, to serve the citizens of Onslow County. Service to the citizens during a disaster may result in the assignment of other duties which will take precedence over duties described in this job announcement.

The minimum requirement for employment with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension ( NCCE) is a high-school diploma or equivalent. Advanced training in related fields is preferred.

High school diploma with two years of specialized training and/or education

in environmental education, horticulture, or agriculture are desirable.

Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.

Environmental education and/or horticulture/agriculture background.

Knowledgeable in creating documents with word processing and

spreadsheet programs, good organizational and people skills, and a

willingness to learn. Pond management, irrigation management, agriculture

and agriculture equipment experience is a plus.

Applicant must have a valid North Carolina driver's license and comply with

Onslow County insurance regulations (applicants must not have more than 3
points over a 3-year period nor have any DWI convictions, and a reliable

personal vehicle for travel.
