Sellers & Associates, LLC (S&A) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to support Department of Defense (DoD) training and program operations by providing application development, systems analysis, and technical support services. The successful candidate will design, develop, integrate, and maintain software applications and systems that support training development, program management, and mission-critical organizational processes while ensuring compliance with information security and quality assurance standards.

Experience Level: MID

Location: Port Hueneme, CA

Travel Allocation: 0% - 10%

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Analyze customer requirements and mission objectives to develop functional system and application solutions.
  • Translate business and operational requirements into application designs, prototypes, and technical specifications.
  • Design, develop, debug, test, and maintain software applications that support DoD training and program operations.
  • Plan and design system and application architectures, including system components, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Design and implement user-friendly application interfaces that meet operational and mission requirements.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and other application outputs to support customer and program needs.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to test, validate, and refine software functionality.
  • Support software quality assurance activities to ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance with established standards.
  • Integrate hardware and software components within enterprise systems and support system implementation and deployment activities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, user guides, and operational documentation.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Apply information security and information assurance principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Support computer-based training environments, learning technologies, and applications that enable instructional development and program execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional program teams to ensure technology solutions effectively support mission and operational objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience supporting application development, systems analysis, or information technology environments may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting application development, systems analysis, or related information technology functions.
  • Experience supporting training development environments or systems utilizing computer-based applications and digital technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing system requirements and translating customer needs into functional application designs or prototypes.
  • Experience planning and designing system and application architectures.
  • Experience developing, debugging, testing, and maintaining application code.
  • Experience designing reports, dashboards, and other application outputs to support user requirements.
  • Experience designing and implementing user interfaces that enhance usability and operational effectiveness.
  • Experience collaborating with customers and stakeholders to test and validate software applications.
  • Experience supporting software quality assurance processes and ensuring application performance and reliability.
  • Experience integrating hardware and software components within enterprise environments.
  • Experience developing and maintaining technical and program documentation.
  • Knowledge of information security and information assurance principles as applied to application development and systems environments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or U.S. Navy information technology and training environments.
  • Experience supporting systems aligned with Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) training programs.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software development frameworks, programming languages, and development tools.
  • Experience supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS), instructional technologies, or other training systems.
  • Experience supporting system integration, deployment, or configuration management activities.
  • Experience applying cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.

Annual Salary: $75,000 - $80,000
