Meet the Team:

Join the Automation and Response team at Splunk, a Cisco company, as we help customers respond to security events faster, more consistently, and with greater confidence. We build the automation and response capabilities that let security teams orchestrate workflows, reduce manual toil, and take action on behalf of their organizations at machine speed. Our work sits at the center of customer trust: when threats, alerts, exposures, or urgent operational issues emerge, our platform helps customers move from signal to action. The team blends product engineering, security domain expertise, cloud operations, and a strong ownership culture. This is an exciting moment to join because AI is changing how engineering teams plan, build, operate, and support software, and we are using that shift to improve both customer outcomes and team effectiveness.

Your Impact:

Lead engineering teams responsible for delivering secure, scalable Automation and Response capabilities across cloud and enterprise environments. Own execution across feature planning, release readiness, production operations, customer escalations, security response work, and long-term product quality. Drive high standards for customer trust by ensuring features are observable, supportable, reliable, safely deployable, and designed to minimize customer impact. Use AI-assisted workflows, shared skills, and automation to reduce management overhead, improve engineering judgment, accelerate triage, strengthen planning, and expand the team's ability to deliver. Build and develop a high-accountability engineering culture where managers and engineers understand customer impact, communicate clearly, close work reliably, and continuously improve how the team operates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience building cloud, enterprise, security, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
  • 5+ years of engineering management experience leading teams through planning, delivery, operations, customer escalations, and performance management.
  • Experience with cloud-native development, CI/CD, test automation, observability, production operations, and secure software delivery.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development, automation, agentic workflows, prompts, or custom skills to improve engineering planning, execution, triage, review, testing, operations, or management workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with security automation, response workflows, orchestration platforms, case triage, or enterprise security products.
  • Experience leading customer-facing SaaS or hybrid-cloud services with high expectations for reliability, release quality, supportability, and zero/minimal customer impact.
  • Strong technical judgment across architecture, roadmap planning, release readiness, operational risk, observability, customer escalation handling, and root-cause prevention.
  • Experience building repeatable operating systems for engineering teams, including ownership models, tracking hygiene, on-call health, customer escalation handling, and cross-team dependency management.
  • Track record of hiring, coaching, and growing engineering managers, senior engineers, and technical leaders in a fast-moving environment.
