UNC Hospitals Youth Behavioral Health is a 54 bed inpatient psychiatric facility located in Butner, NC. The hospital is a locked facility and is composed of 4 units designed to care for child and adolescent patients with a variety of common mental health diagnoses, including those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Key Role Responsibilities of Clinic Manager I Operations & Facilities:
- Serve as primary liaison with Facilities and operational support departments.
- Coordinate environment of care, operational readiness, and campus operational initiatives.
- Oversee vendor coordination, equipment maintenance follow-up, and emergency management preparedness.
- Lead operational planning and coordination for campus improvement projects.
Food & Ancillary Services:
- Oversee food service operations and coordination of the food service contract.
- Provide operational oversight and supervision of ancillary support staff and services.
- Partner with dietary and operational teams to address service quality, workflow, and patient experience needs.
Regulatory & Compliance:
- Coordinate regulatory surveys and site visits, including DHSR, Disability Rights, and Joint Commission.
- Maintain oversight of required on-site compliance and employee documentation.
- Support ongoing regulatory readiness and corrective action follow-through.
Financial & Revenue Operations:
- Partner with Revenue Cycle and Finance teams to monitor billing performance, denials, reimbursement trends, and operational opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in financial operations discussions impacting YBH cost centers, reimbursement, and operational performance.
- Serve as liaison with LME/MCO organizations regarding reimbursement and operational partnership matters.
Philanthropy & Community Partnerships:
- Support donor engagement, volunteer coordination, and Foundation partnership activities.
- Coordinate tours and engagement with legislators, DHHS representatives, and community stakeholders.
- Strengthen community partnerships and referral relationships supporting YBH operations and growth.
This position qualifies for an extensive benefit package including PTO hours, which are accrued based on the number of worked hours. This position requires the ability to attend a weeklong hospital orientation in Chapel Hill, offered every two weeks in Chapel Hill, NC. Orientation Schedule: Monday and Tuesday - In person from 8am to 4:30pm in Chapel Hill; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - Virtual. Summary: The Clinic Manager I is responsible for all budget, purchasing, personnel, compliance and facilities planning and administrative functions at the clinical practice level. Incumbents directly or indirectly supervise the non-medical employees in the assigned clinic, and share in the supervision of the nursing staff. Responsibilities: 1. Compliance Ensures program(s) are prepared for inspections and site visits, ensures that accreditation and compliance are maintained. Ensures corrective action is taken when deficiencies are found. 2. Continuous Quality Improvement Conducts ongoing evaluation program evaluation to ensure outcomes (fiscal, strategic and service) are met. Analyzes processes and develops educational programs or modifies practice to improve processes and service 3. Facility Management Ensures proper maintenance and improvements to facilities, ensures safety and cleanliness standards are met. Negotiates and manages leases. 4. Fiscal Develops budgets, monitors expenses and analyzes monthly budget indicators. Controls overhead and maximizes revenue generation. May evaluate billing, coding, or other related processes. 5. Personnel Management Recruits, hires, trains and supervises/manages non-medical personnel such as technical, secretarial and nursing staff. Handles corrective actions. May supervise clinic research staff. 6. Planning In collaboration with nursing and medical leadership, develops and plans comprehensive programs and develops strategic plans. Plans for maximum utilization of resources, e.g., space, providers, personnel and equipment. Conducts needs assessments.

Other information: Education Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Nursing, Economics, Health Administration or related discipline. Education may be substituted with relevant experience at a rate of two (2) years of experience for one (1) year of education. For example, a bachelor's degree (4 years) may be met with 8 years of related experience, or a combination of both on a prorated basis. Licensure/Certification Requirements: * No licensure or certification required. Professional Experience Requirements: * If a Bachelor's degree: no previous experience required. * If an Associate's degree: Four (4) years of experience in a health care setting, including one (1) year of experience in a supervisory role. * If a High School diploma or GED: Eight (8) years of work experience in a health care setting, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.
