The Department of Cell and Molecular Physiology at Loyola University Chicago
Stritch School of Medicine (
SSOM) seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the
ASSISTANT
PROFESSOR level.
We seek a collaborative colleague whose research program is focused on
fundamental mechanistic processes related to cardiac physiology, cell physiology/
mechanics, and/or molecular neurophysiology. Careful but not exclusive
consideration will be given to applicants who use non-traditional models alongside
innovative biophysical, 'omics, and live imaging approaches to address fundamental
knowledge gaps. Departmental strengths include faculty engaged in cardiovascular
science, ion channel physiology, molecular motors, cellular biophysics, calcium
signaling, nuclear steroid receptors,
RNA biology, and aging research. The successful
candidate will have the opportunity to engage with collaborative translational research
groups within Loyola's Cardiovascular Research Institute (
CVRI). Additional

Candidates must have a doctoral degree and postdoctoral experience with strong
publication records. The faculty applicant will be expected to sustain an independent,
externally-funded research program and contribute to graduate and medical
education.
